Geology Engineering

  1. Geo-technic Engineering

Geo-technic engineering subjects usually includes: positioning studies to build structures such as dam, tunnel and road, taking geo-technical studies (soil and stone mechanics) for construction projects like water dams and tunnel, identifying earthquake zones, seismic analysis of different construction projects and soil erodibility and sediment accumulation behind dams, cartography of minerals and other construction projects.

Required Competencies

Educational and working conditions require students to have sound knowledge of Geology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Job opportunities

Geology graduates could be employed by Ministries of Mines and Energy and Water, companies engaged in building dam, digging tunnel, building road, exploring water resources and minerals, mineral and geological mapping, petrological and geological laboratories.
