Dr. Zaker Hossain Ershad,

Dr. Zaker Hossain Ershad, the Academic Vice- Chancellor of Avicenna University, was born in Gharsoob, Jighatoo District of Ghazni Province in 1976.  He began his primary education in his hometown and in 1992; he went to Iran to continue his education. Dr. Ershad pursued his studies to the fourth year of Advanced Jurisprudence in Ghom Seminary and then he studied Political Science in Imam Khomeini Educational Institute in 1999 and finished his Master studies in Political Science from 2004 to 2007.

To continue his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Zaker Hossain Ershad, entered into Tehran University, one of the top national and regional universities of Iran. In early 2013, he successfully defended his dissertation under the title of The U.S. Strategy in Afghanistan in Post- Taliban Era. Coming back to Afghanistan, Dr. Ershad has followed academic and cultural activities. From 2008 to 2010, he was a lecturer and the head of Political Science Faculty in Kateb University. In 2011, he and some other academic elites of the country has established Avicenna University and has spent inexhaustible and continuous time which resulted to this great University. From the advent of establishment of Avicenna University to 2014, Dr. Ershad has worked as a lecturer and the head of Political Science Faculty and then was appointed as the Academic and Educational Vic-Chancellor of University. He is also the Academic Deputy of Private Universities and Institute of Higher Education Union in Afghanistan. In 2014, Dr. Ershad went to U.S. for a fellowship program and successfully accomplished the program and returned to Afghanistan.

As far as the academic published works are concerned, Dr. Ershad, has published two academic books, three other academic books are in progress, more than twenty scholarly articles, and supervised more than twenty theses at Master Degree. He is now a research faculty member, a member of Bright Future Union as well as Contemporary History Union, Lecturer and Academic Vice- Chancellor of Avicenna University, a member of Board of Founders of Avicenna University, the Academic Deputy of Private Universities and Institute of Higher Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
